Pretty Pose was a Pedigree doll made for the cheaper end of the Sindy line. Although she was a basic doll, what made her unique was the insertion of special “posing” wires into her new slimmer limbs. This enabled her arms and legs to bend and to hold pose hence the name “Pretty Pose”. These dolls were extremely popular and as such surviving mint and boxed examples are scarce to say the least. From available examples it is apparent that doll went through several incarnations. Released at the tail end of 1974 the first issue is a strange hybrid of several dolls: A Trendy Girl type head with Nylon lashes, the new slimmer upper body and arms but with the chunkier Trendy Girl legs. (see example below) These are the rarest and hardest to find today. Next came the doll with the same upper body but now with matching slimmer legs (see picture below). This doll has a very pretty distinctive face with a high colour, small head mould. This mould was also used for the first Active and The second Ship Ahoy Lovely Lively doll. The third example is almost identical to the second except for the fact that the head mould is slightly larger now. This is also the head mould used for the 75/76 Active & the 75/76 Lovely lively.
